Xcelerator December 2021 Updates: 2022 Cohort Application Open until 1/20/22 & Demo Day Recap

Secondly, on November 22nd, the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator brought its 2021 programming to a close with a combined demo day, alumni showcase and career fair!

The Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator is a blockchain startup accelerator run by UC Berkeley. We provide non-dilutive support to our teams that ranges from access to our high-quality mentor and talent network to special programming sessions with thought leaders and blockchain / crypto venture capital firms. Since January 2019, we have accelerated 65 teamsfrom around the world in 4 batches. Investors in our teams include Polychain, Pantera, Susquehanna, IDEO Co-Lab, Draper Venture Network, Digital Currency Group, HTC, Alibaba, etc., as well as grants from Web3 Foundation and ConsenSys. Our teams have now raised follow-on funding exceeding $200+M!

This upcoming batch (2022 Cohort) will run from April to October 2022, and will be hybrid with some programming online and optionally in-person. Teams at all stages and from all locations are welcome to apply; no previous UC Berkeley affiliation is required. The application is open here until January 20, 2022.

Our November 22nd, Demo Day event was produced in a hybrid format, with over 200 attendees in-person on UC Berkeley’s campus and another 100 audience members participating virtually.

Featured presentations included pitches from teams in our outgoing batch and updates from past Xcelerator participants - as well as Professor Dawn Song’s exciting preview of UC Berkeley’s new Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence!

After the pitch presentations, teams broke out into individual booths for a more personal networking event- engaging with investors, students, faculty and other community members both in-person and virtually.

Demo Day was a resounding success! Attendees praised the work of our latest batch and the organization of a valuable, productive career fair. The Xcelerator would like to sincerely thank all who participated in making this night possible.
